Windows 10 PC

  • Start by going to the Settings menu on your Windows 10 computer.
  • Select the option for Privacy.
  • Go to Permissions for Apps.
  • Microphone is the best option.
  • Look for the option to allow applications access to your microphone.
  • Change the settings by clicking on it.

Macintosh Computers

  • Go to Security & Privacy.

  • Go to the Allow area and see whether Google Docs is listed there.
  • Click to open Google Docs if you see it in the Blocked area instead.
  • Select Microphone from the drop-down menu.
  • Allow should be selected.

Solution #3: Delete the Cache, Cookies, and Browsing Data in Google Chrome.

  • Click the three-dotted symbol on your Google Chrome browser.
  • Select More Tools from the drop-down menu.
  • Clear browsing data is the option.
  • Set the Time range to All Time at this point.
  • The boxes next to Browsing data, Cookies, and Cache should all be checked.
  • To clear the data, use the Clear data button.

Solution #4: On your computer, check the Microphone Input Volume.

It’s possible that it’s a problem with your microphone settings. Check the volume and see whether your microphone is functioning.

Windows 10

  • Start by going to the Settings menu on your Windows 10 computer.
  • Go to the System tab.
  • Make a sound selection.
  • Select Input from the drop-down menu.
  • Select your microphone under Choose your input device.
  • Go to the Device Properties section.
  • Slide to change the microphone’s volume.

  • Launch System Preferences if you’re a Mac user.
  • Double-click the Sound icon to activate it.
  • Toggle over to the Input tab.
  • Choose a microphone.
  • Using the slider, change the volume. 

Solution #5 – Make sure your Google Chrome browser is up to date.

  • Click the three-dotted symbol on your Chrome browser.
  • Update Google Chrome is the option to choose.
  • After installing the updates, restart your Chrome browser.
